HOME DESCRIPTION:
The Healthy Dream Home™ shows how healthy a house can be. No materials containing formaldehyde are used in the inner envelope of the home. Alternative materials are used throughout the building process that eliminate the presence of mold, mildew, VOCs, and other dangerous toxins that contaminate the inside of traditionally built homes.
With the additional priorities of sustainability and energy efficiency, designers used Hi-Tech Steel Structural Insulated Panels (SSIPs) by ThermaSteel for the envelope. Made of recyclable steel and EPS, Hi-Tech panels provide extreme strength, durability, superior insulation, eliminate thermal bridging, and reduce energy consumption, reducing a home’s energy requirement by 40-50% and providing substantial long term savings for the homeowner. Homeowners can expect a healthy, sustainable, and energy efficient home with an effective R-value of R-33 in the walls and R-50 in the roof.
“Cool Chemistry” steel roofing was used. It reflects heat instead of absorbing it like shingles, saving up to 35% in cooling costs, according to the Cool Metal Roofing Association.
A FAR infrared radiant heating system was installed in the basement and main floor.
The custom designed Healthy Dream Home™ is a spacious 2500sq. ft. split bedroom design ranch with 3 bedrooms and 2½ baths, featuring bamboo hardwood floors, granite countertops, custom formaldehyde-free cabinets, and lofted ceilings, along with oversized covered porches in front and back, an oversized three car garage and a kitchen island large enough for the entire family.
